Data Use & Account Terms
1. Purpose and scope
These Data Use & Account Terms explain what users must provide, how account information may be used within PublishMyLink, and the responsibilities that apply when buyers and publishers submit information to our marketplace. They supplement the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. If there is a conflict about personal-data handling, the Privacy Policy applies to the extent required by law.
2. Accurate account information
You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information when registering and to keep it updated. You must use an email address you control and protect your login credentials. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless unauthorised use resulted from circumstances for which you are not responsible under applicable law. Do not impersonate another person, create deceptive accounts, submit false business details, or use another person’s information without permission. We may request reasonable verification where needed for fraud prevention, marketplace integrity, payment processing or legal compliance.
3. Information required to use the marketplace
For registration and service operation, we may request contact details, account role, business information, publisher website details, niche and editorial criteria, placement prices, payment or payout details, order briefs, article files, live URLs, approval records and support communications. Certain information is needed to perform a transaction. If you decline to provide required information, we may be unable to create an account, publish a listing, complete an order, process a refund or make a payout.
4. Use limited to legitimate purposes
We use submitted data to operate and secure accounts, display publisher listings, help buyers assess relevant placements, coordinate orders, document approval, process payments and payouts, investigate complaints, provide support and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal data. We do not authorise our service providers to use your personal data for their own unrelated marketing. We may use aggregated or de-identified information to analyse platform performance, improve search and detect abuse, provided it is not used to identify you where the law requires otherwise.
5. Sharing and visibility
Some business and publisher information is intended to be visible to other marketplace users—for example, a publisher’s website, niche, listed metrics, price and placement conditions. Do not upload private information into public listing fields. Buyers and publishers may receive information needed to fulfil a specific order, such as a brief, article, target URL, placement details, delivery status and approval notes. We may share necessary transaction data with payment providers, hosting and security vendors, support systems, professional advisers and authorities where legally required or reasonably necessary to protect rights and safety. We will limit disclosures to what is reasonably needed for the relevant purpose.
6. User-submitted content and permissions
You retain rights you hold in content you submit, subject to the licences necessary to operate the marketplace and fulfil orders. By uploading an article, logo, website details, editorial guidelines or other material, you confirm you have the rights and permissions needed for us to store, display to relevant users, transmit to the selected publisher or buyer, and use it to perform the service. You grant PublishMyLink a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, transmit and display that material solely for operating, supporting, securing and improving the service and completing the transaction, subject to your settings and applicable law. This does not transfer ownership of your intellectual property to us.
7. Confidentiality and security
Users must not use the platform to collect another user’s data for unrelated purposes, scrape or export information in violation of our terms, sell account information, publish confidential order details without authorisation, or attempt to bypass security controls. We use reasonable safeguards, but you remain responsible for limiting access to your own systems and removing unnecessary sensitive information from uploads. Notify support promptly if you suspect unauthorised access, data exposure or misuse.
8. Retention, correction and deletion
You may update account details through available settings or contact Privacy@publishmylink.com. We may retain limited records after account closure where necessary for payments, refunds, tax and accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, security or legal compliance. We may restrict, anonymise or delete data when it is no longer needed, subject to mandatory retention duties. Deleting an account may not remove transaction records that we are legally required to preserve or information held independently by a payment provider under its own policies.
9. Lawful use and enforcement
You must not submit unlawful, infringing, misleading, malicious or unauthorised information; misuse personal data; interfere with another person’s rights; or use the platform for fraud, spam or unlawful activity. We may remove content, restrict listings, pause transactions or suspend accounts when reasonably necessary to investigate suspected abuse, protect users, comply with law or enforce our terms. Where appropriate and lawful, we may request clarification before taking final action.
10. Legal framework and contact
We intend to handle personal data in accordance with applicable Indian law, including data-protection requirements in force when processing occurs, and other applicable privacy laws where relevant. Rights and obligations may vary by jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms removes a right that cannot lawfully be waived. Privacy requests: Privacy@publishmylink.com.
